Cape Korowai White

These Korowai cape are extremely popular for weddings and evening wear.
These Korowai are handmade in Auckland by machine stitching feathers onto a beautifully lined fabric base.
 
The feathers wrap around the front edge to complete the look. Inspiration for the colour and designs come from local NZ fauna and flora.
 
Beautiful farmed chicken and rooster feathers are used.
 
The taniko trim has also been woven from wool in NZ. This design is the Marena design or wedding design. The triangles represent people. In the centre of the "V" are the bride and groom with the minister in front of them. The outer parts of the "V" show the whanau witnessing the ceremony. The gold thread shows the importance of this day.
 
This Korowai has recieved a blessing before making its way to Sydney.
